Project Description
This work was commissioned by the Westcountry Rivers Trust, and coordinated locally by the Dorset Wildlife Trust, who were liaising with three separate riparian owners on this stretch of the River Frome. The brief was to clear a large quantity of damaged and displaced fencing from the site, erect a new arc of chestnut post fencing with three strands of barbed wire, then plant four separate areas with mixed native trees, including twenty large standard oaks and alders. In total over 800 trees were planted by the team in just two days! Looking forward to visiting the site over future years to see how the young trees develop. Previously-cut tree branches were retained to create habitat piles in one of the planted areas.
